Learn to speed skate
The learn to speed skate program is conducted by O’Brien Icehouse at Docklands.

Who can come
Beginners are welcome, as long as you are able to skate without assistance. The minimum age is 5 years.
Our experienced coaches will guide you through the sessions helping you improve and enjoy the thrill!

What to bring
We provide speed skates. Please bring your own gloves and bicycle helmet (or similar) as they are required. Additionally it’s a good idea to wear warm clothes and knee pads.

When and where
You are welcome to join the Learn to Speed Skate Classes at O’Brien Icehouse from 5:15 pm to 6:15 pm on Mondays during school terms.
Please come 15 or 20 minutes earlier so you have time to put on your gear including your skates and get ready for the thrill and fun!

This is for beginners to learn to speed skate and intermediate level skaters to improve their techniques.
Docklands Demons club training sessions
6:15 pm – 7:15 pm on Mondays all year round except Christmas and January at O’Brien Icehouse. Please contact us to check the training times.
These sessions are open to all financial members of AIR State Associations and members of the ISU.


About us
The Docklands Demons Ice Racing Club develops skaters from beginners to champions. Join one of Australia’s fastest growing clubs and train with Olympians, World and National Champions and experienced coaches in a supportive and family-focused environment. Our Club Patron is six-time Olympian, Colin Coates OAM.
Whether you want to skate for fun, improve your skills or compete at State and National level, our club provides coaching, equipment and support to help all skaters pursue their goals.
